About Hangzhou City University
Hangzhou City University (HZCU) is a full-time public university approved by Chinese Ministry of Education and organized by Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government. It was established in 1999, originally registered under the name of Zhejiang University City College.
HZCU is located in Hangzhou, a famous historical and cultural city and a well-known scenic tourist destination in China, and is adjacent to Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, one of the World Cultural Heritages. Its campus covers a land area of about 67 hectares with a floor space of over 510,000 square meters. HZCU consists of 13 schools and 1 Sino-foreign Joint Institute.
HZCU currently offers 36 undergraduate programs covering 9 disciplines, including economics, law, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, medicine, management and art, as well as 3 professional master degree programs. There are more than 11,500 full-time undergraduate students and 100 full-time master students, more than 330 postgraduate students jointly educated by HZCU and other universities, such as Zhejiang University.
HZCU plays an active role in opening-up and promoting the internationalization of education. We have introduced foreign high-quality educational resources, built one Sino-foreign joint institute with the University of Waikato in New Zealand, and established cooperative relationships with over 70 universities in the United States, Japan, Singapore, France, Germany, New Zealand, etc. by carrying out international cooperative exchange activities.
